The X1000 is a departure from iLife's usual budget-apartment robots, aimed at large spaces that outrun a single battery charge: two detachable batteries can be swapped mid-clean, so an unusually large house, or one combined with a finished basement or home office wing, doesn't leave a robot stranded halfway through its route. Suction at 20,000Pa and 3D mapping are built for that scale of coverage rather than a typical one- or two-bedroom layout.
Because it was designed with commercial and large residential floors in mind, its touch-screen controls and mapping options go beyond what most households need, and it's a larger, heavier machine than the average home robot. It fits a genuinely oversized home, a large single-level footprint or a property with a lot of open floor area, where battery swapping solves a real coverage problem rather than adding complexity nobody asked for.
