Most robots rely on one navigation method, LiDAR or a camera, but the Freo X Ultra layers three lasers scanning the full 360 degrees around it, with a side-mounted laser specifically tuned to work close to walls and furniture legs. The result is edge cleaning that gets within millimeters of a baseboard rather than leaving the usual gap most robots avoid out of caution.
Its patented Rouleaux mop heads are designed to maximize mopping coverage across that same tight edge work, and the robot automatically detects floor type to lift the mop 12mm and switch to suction-only on carpet. It predates Narwal's newer camera-based Freo Z models, so it leans on laser precision rather than AI object recognition for obstacle handling. It suits a home with a lot of furniture legs, baseboards, and tight corners where getting genuinely close to the edge matters more than picking objects up.
