iRobot Roomba

Roomba is old enough that a lot of people say "get a Roomba" the way they say "get a Kleenex," and that name recognition is still iRobot's biggest asset even as rivals from Roborock and Ecovacs have overtaken it on raw suction numbers and dock automation in recent years. The dual rubber brush design, which resists hair tangling better than bristled rollers, remains one of the brand's genuine hardware advantages.
After a proposed acquisition by Amazon fell through and the company went through a difficult stretch financially, iRobot rebuilt its entire lineup for 2026 around a clearer numbered system, Vac-only models, Plus combo robots, and Max flagships, replacing the harder-to-parse j-series and s-series names that came before. It's a brand worth watching closely for anyone who valued its mapping software and app polish but was frustrated by its higher prices relative to newer competitors.
