Where Proscenic's budget Q10 leans on a single dToF laser for mapping, the Q8 Max+ adds a second laser system dedicated to obstacle avoidance, giving it a more confident read on furniture legs and floor clutter than the simpler single-sensor setup. It's Proscenic's answer to the navigation gap between budget robots and the camera-based systems bigger brands charge much more for.
The self-empty station adds hands-off convenience on top of that improved navigation, and 8,000Pa suction keeps pace with pickup performance rather than just adding sensors for their own sake. It doesn't mop, so anyone wanting a combo unit will need a different Proscenic model or brand entirely. It's a reasonable pick for someone who wants noticeably better obstacle avoidance than an entry-level budget robot, without paying for a flagship's full camera and AI recognition suite.
