Who ECOVACS is
ECOVACS is a home robot maker whose milestone timeline starts in 1998, when the company was founded; the ECOVACS ROBOTICS brand followed in 2006, and its first floor-cleaning robot, the DEEBOT 5 series, arrived in 2007. The WINBOT window robot came in 2011, European and US subsidiaries were set up in 2012, and in 2013 the company launched its first DEEBOT with laser mapping and smartphone control. It listed on the Shanghai stock exchange in 2018.
The Swiss About page lists offices in Suzhou, Seattle, Tokyo, San Francisco, Neuss, Düsseldorf, Hong Kong and Singapore, and puts three numbers beside them: 180 countries and regions, "38 Mio." trusted households, and "2.5 K" global patents. Its mission line is "Robotik für alle" (robotics for everyone), and the global site's slogan is "Created for Ease."
The DEEBOT range
ECOVACS sells its robot vacuums under the DEEBOT name, split into series that the global site describes in its own words.
X Series, "Ultimate Flagship Performance." The top of the range. The DEEBOT X12S carries the line "Never Follow. Always Define." The DEEBOT X12 is billed as "The First Robotic Vacuum Cleaner with FocusJet," with the slogan "FocusJet on Stain, Roll Out a Deep Clean." The X11 is "Xtra in Every Way, Ahead in Every Play," the X9 promises to "BLAST the Dirt, ROLL to Shine," the X8 is "The First Ever of Its Kind - Impeccably Clean on the Roll," and the X5 offers "Flawless Edge-to-edge Cleaning." The Indian store lists the X12 OmniCyclone with 22,000 Pa suction, FocusJet with OZMO Roller 3.0 and a runtime of up to 400+ mins.
T Series, "Advanced Everyday Cleaning." The middle of the range, with models such as the T90, T80S, T80, T50 and T50 MAX, and the T30C sold on "20000Pa Hyper Suction, Dual Zero Tangle." The T80S claims "16x Cleaning Power. Triple Lift Precision. Spotless in One Roll."
N Series, "Smart Value Choice." The entry point. The DEEBOT N30 is "The First-ever ZeroTangle 2.0 Constantly Clean DEEBOT," and the N20 pairs with what ECOVACS calls its "Effortless PureCyclone Station."
mini Series, "Compact Power for Small Spaces." The DEEBOT mini is sold as "All You Want, Packed in Mini" for smaller homes.
The steps are clear from those lines. The N Series buys the basics with ECOVACS' anti-tangle work and a self-empty option; the T Series adds more suction and roller mopping; the X Series adds the newest mopping systems and FocusJet.
The technologies behind it
The US DEEBOT page explains five named technologies in some detail:
- FocusJet sprays "46,000 Pa high-pressure water jets" ahead of the mop roller to loosen dried stains such as soy sauce and coffee.
- OZMO ROLLER 3.0 uses a 27 cm mop roller that the page says is 50% longer than the previous generation, with 32-way pressurized water flow flushing the roller as it mops.
- TruEdge 3.0 uses an air-cushion roller that extends 2.58 cm toward baseboards, guided by a 3D edge sensor with vertical and horizontal lasers.
- ZeroTangle 4.0 uses a lateral-airflow impeller and a dual-bearing brush to cut hair wrap.
- PowerBoost Charging Plus restores 13% battery in 3 minutes and supports "a continuous run over 1000m2," with what the page calls an EV-grade pouch battery.
The timeline adds context: AIVI visual recognition arrived in 2018, the all-in-one OMNI Station and the YIKO voice assistant in 2021, the X8 with OZMO ROLLER in 2024, and in 2025 the X11 with PowerBoost. The same year, the page says, DEEBOT robot vacuums earned a "Diamant" IoT security rating from UL Solutions, and the X2, X2 Combo, T50, T50 Max and X8 gained Matter 1.4 support for smart-home control.
The ECOVACS HOME app
The app is where most owners will live. The US app page lists Auto mode with adjustable water flow, vacuum power and cleaning sequence, area and spot cleaning on a saved map, 3D mapping, and invisible boundaries that set where the robot goes and whether it vacuums, mops or both inside each zone. Some robots can stream video to the phone, so an owner can check on the home and talk to pets or family. The app tracks accessory wear, sends replacement reminders and links to the official store, and the ECOVACS Club lets owners earn points for discounts. The footnotes are honest that not every model has every feature: some lack a water tank, some DEEBOT series lack 3D mapping, and older series do not support video.
The DEEBOT FAQ fills in daily use: most models take 3 to 5 hours to charge, the robots can be started from the body buttons without Wi-Fi, and ECOVACS says noise can be as low as 65 dB.
Beyond floors
ECOVACS sells three other robot families. WINBOT window robots include the WINBOT W3 OMNI, "A Breakthrough in Robotic Window Cleaning," and the W2S range. GOAT lawn mowers, first launched in 2022, include the GOAT A3000 LiDAR PRO. ULTRAMARINE is the pool line, with the P1 introduced in 2026. There is also a commercial arm, DEEBOT PRO, with the K1 VAC and M1 cleaning robots.
Stores, prices and support
ECOVACS runs country stores, and prices and models differ between them. In South Africa, where shipping is free over R499, the DEEBOT X8 OMNI was listed at R 13,999 against R 27,999, with 18,000Pa suction, a 270min runtime and a "60 Day Auto-Empty" station, and the X12S OmniCyclone at R 28,999. The South African store also sells accessories by type, from brush rollers and filters to dust bags, mopping parts, cleaning solution and batteries, and has a repair and warranty-claim page. In India the store carries a Frootle India Pvt Ltd copyright line, so it is run by a partner rather than ECOVACS itself; it listed the DEEBOT N30 at an online price of INR 36999 and the N30 PLUS, with an auto-empty bagless station and 300 Min runtime, at INR 45999, and it sells extended warranty plans.
The US store's support menu covers returns and warranties, extended warranty, a price match guarantee, a trade-in program and Wi-Fi setup help, and the global site has instruction manuals and a product security center.
Who ECOVACS suits
ECOVACS suits buyers who want one brand for more than the floor: a DEEBOT inside, a WINBOT on the glass, a GOAT on the lawn, all from one maker. Its N Series and mini suit smaller homes and budgets, the T Series suits most families, and the X Series suits owners who want roller mopping, FocusJet and long runtimes in large homes, such as the X12's listed 400+ mins. Pet owners get the ZeroTangle work across the range. The one thing to check is the local store, since models, prices and warranty plans are set country by country.
