What Narwal is

Narwal is a robot vacuum and mop maker whose whole brand grew out of mopping. The US home page tells the origin in one line: when founder Junbin's mother asked, "What if a robot could wash its own mop?", it "sparked an idea." Its sites carry a copyright line running from 2017, and the Chinese-language site at narwal.com uses the name 云鲸 (Yunjing) alongside NARWAL.

The US home page describes a brand in "30+ countries & markets", with "6M+ households worldwide", "1,500+ patents" and "500+ service locations". Narwal runs official stores for the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia and Korea, and its EU site lists regional distributor websites for Poland, Malaysia, Singapore and India. The Indian store, for example, is powered by Cavitak Global Commerce Pvt Ltd (GRIPIT). Besides robot vacuums, Narwal sells the S series of handheld wet dry vacuums.

The range

Narwal sells two robot families. The Flow series is the flagship line built around a roller mop, and the Freo series covers everything from entry models to hot-water docks.

At the top sits the Flow 2, "AI powered long lasting deep clean", listed on the US store at $1,299.99 against $1,499.99. The original Flow, "AI hot water mopping smart clean", stays in the range below it; the EU store listed it at €699,00. The Freo 20, new for 2026, brings "Hot-water FlowWash with dual-vision" at $999.00 (regular $1,099.00), and the Freo 20 Edge was $699.99 against $799.99. A press release on the US blog says those two models bring the flagship FlowWash track-mopping system to more homes "Starting Under $799". Canadian prices run higher: the Flow 2 was C$1,349.99 against C$1,999.99, the Freo 20 C$1,499.99 and the Freo 20 Edge C$999.99 against C$1,199.99, and the Canadian store labels the three tiers FLAGSHIP, PREMIUM and ESSENTIAL PLUS.

Below the FlowWash models are the Freo robots with spinning mop pads. The Freo X10 Pro, "The hassle-free choice", lists 11,000 Pa suction with MopExtend and EdgeSwing, and was €399,00 on the EU store. The Freo Z10 Ultra lists 18,000 Pa, and the Freo Z10 Turbo is sold in the US as "Deep clean even on carpets." The UK store calls the Freo X Plus "Narwal's ultimate entry-level robot vacuum", with the Freo X Ultra above it ("Exceptional power. Minimal maintenance.").

So the steps buy the mop. Entry Freo models vacuum and mop with rotating pads and empty into a bag. The Z10 and X10 Pro add stronger suction and edge reach. The Freo 20, Flow and Flow 2 replace pads with a self-cleaning roller mop fed with fresh hot water as it cleans, which is the system the brand is built on.

The S series wet dry vacuums

Narwal's second line is handheld: upright wet dry vacuums that wash floors and pick up spills in one pass. The US store listed the S30 Pro ("All-in-one deep cleaning performance") at $449.99 against $549.99, the S30 at $349.99 against $449.99 and the S20 Pro, sold on "Effortless tangle-free cleaning", at $359.00 against $499.99. The Australian store describes the S30 as "High-Temp Self-Cleaning, Ready for Any Mess" and the S20 Pro with "Heavy Messes, One Pass Perfection". For a household that already runs a Narwal robot, these cover stairs, entryways and spills the robot cannot reach.

What the product pages show

The US home page spells out the flagship technologies. FlowWash uses "continuous fresh hot water and a self-cleaning flattened roller mop applying 12 N of pressure", so the robot washes floors and rinses itself at the same time. The dock's Full-Cycle Hot Water Self-Cleaning uses water from 113–212°F to flush the tank, scraper and tubing. TwinAI Dodge obstacle avoidance uses dual 1080p cameras and is said to avoid obstacles "down to 0.2 in". CarpetFocus seals the vacuum cover to boost suction 4.2× on carpet while lifting the mops 0.4 in, and the page lists a 7,000 mAh battery with AI battery health management. Brushes use a DualFlow Tangle-Free System with a side brush that shifts shape when it catches hair.

Older and mid-range models have their own figures. The UK store's FAQ puts the battery life of the Freo and Freo X Ultra at around 210 minutes and the Freo X Plus at 254 minutes, operating noise of the X Plus and X Ultra at 50 dB, and the X Ultra's map storage at up to 4 maps for multi-floor homes. The EU FAQ says the self-collecting base compresses dust into disposable bags for 3-7 weeks of maintenance-free cleaning, and that the station dries mops with heat at 40°C (104°F).

The app is the Narwal Freo app. Narwal's support center covers app pairing, device sharing, multi-floor cleaning, an error code index and a model comparison, and the Indian store says Narwal robots work with Alexa and Google Assistant.

Consumables are sold per model. The Indian store's accessories menu lists dust bags, side brushes, mop cloths, floor cleaner, zero-tangling floating brushes, automatic water exchange systems for the Freo X Ultra, Freo Z Ultra and Z10 models, and track mops and roller brushes for the Flow. Advanced Kits exist for the Flow 2, the Freo Z10 Ultra and Flow (Basic Dock).

Warranty and support

The US store has a Warranty Policy and an Extended Warranty Policy page, and advertises 30-day price protection and "24*7 Lifetime Support", with live chat and e-mail. The EU store's FAQ states that "All Narwal robots come with a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and malfunctions", although a second answer on the same page says one year, so the regional warranty page is the one to rely on. Extended warranty plans are sold per model and can be bought up to 1 year (365 days) after the original purchase.

Who Narwal suits

Narwal suits a buyer whose floors are mostly hard and who cares about how they are mopped. The Flow 2 and Freo 20 wash their roller mop with hot water while they clean, which is the brand's answer to a robot spreading dirty water. A mixed-floor home gets CarpetFocus and mop lift, and pet owners get the tangle-free brush systems.

Buyers on a tighter budget can start with the Freo X10 Pro or the Freo 20 Edge. Someone who mostly needs carpet cleaning may lean toward the Freo Z10 Turbo, which Narwal pitches for exactly that.
