Laresar is a cleaning appliance brand that its own About page places in Shenzhen, "China's high-tech center", founded in 2019 and "integrating R&D, production and sales". It launched a cordless stick vacuum first and, in its own words, "In 2020, we added the robot vacuum cleaner product line." The milestones on that page are specific: a US office opened in 2021 to develop retailers and dealers, accumulated sales passed 1 million units in 2022 and 2 million units in 2023, and products are now "sold primarily in 11 countries, with offices in Asia and North America". The name, the homepage explains, comes from ancient Rome, where "Lares" meant "the patron saint of the family". Its tagline is "The Art of Intelligent Cleaning", and the store sells cordless sticks (the Ultra 7, Elite S6, Elite 7 and Elite 8) and robot vacuums side by side. The latest milestone on the About page points wider still, toward air purifiers and pet technology.

The robot vacuum range

Laresar lists five robots: the Evol 3, Evol 3s, Mars01, L6 Nex and L6 Pro. They split cleanly into two kinds of machine.

The Evol 3 is the slim, simple one. It was listed at $249.99, down from a regular price of $269.99. Laresar gives it "4500Pa Hurricane Suction" from "a new generation motor made in Japan", a body "only 2.75 inches" tall to slide under sofas and cabinets, and a 3200mAh battery for a "180mins Runtime". It sweeps, vacuums and mops, with a separate dust container and water tank, and it can vacuum and mop at the same time. It has four cleaning modes (Zig-Zag Auto, Spot, Edge and Random) and it recognizes carpet and raises its suction there. Control is by buttons, an included remote, the app, or Alexa and Google Home voice commands. The spec table lists a HEPA filter, and the page suggests the Evol 3 for pet owners and for older people or anyone with limited mobility who finds daily floor cleaning hard. The Evol 3 has no self-emptying base on its page and is sold on its random and zig-zag patterns rather than on mapping.

The L6 Nex and L6 Pro are the mapping, self-emptying pair. The L6 Nex, listed at $599.99, is sold on "Smart Mapping, LiDAR Navigation" and "60-Day Hands-Free Cleaning", with a base that empties the robot into a 3L bag "that can hold up to 60 days of dirt". The robot carries a 300ml dust box and a 250ml water tank, and the app offers 3 suction levels and 3 levels of water output. Its carpet detection uses what Laresar calls "Japanese auto carpet boost technology", which "will enhance suction once detecting carpets so that it can pick up pet hair clinging to the carpets". One quirk: its headline reads "5000Pa Ultra Cleaning Efficiency" while the text below gives "suction power up to 3500Pa".

The L6 Pro, listed at $579.99, uses "advanced SLAM lidar (Sampling Rate: 2160 times per second)" for mapping, "23 sensors and TOF sensor to prevent falling and anti-collision", and a "Japanese Nidec brushless fan with the strongest suction of 3500pa". It sweeps, mops or does both, and its "3.5L disposable dust bag holds up to 60 days of dirt and debris". Laresar pitches it as "your best choice for a large and complex home environment".

The Mars01 is promoted on the homepage with "Smart Mapping, Lidar Navigation", and the Evol 3s sits beside the Evol 3 in the menu.

So the choice is simple. The Evol 3 buys a thin vacuum-mop with strong listed suction and a long runtime at its $249.99 sale price. The L6 models add LiDAR maps, app zones and a base that empties the robot, with a bag rated for up to 60 days.

The Laresmart app

Laresar's app is called Laresmart, and the L6 Pro FAQ shows how much it does. You can clean one zone ("Zone-Create area-Start"), block an area such as a dog bed with a no-go area or virtual wall, set different suction and water levels room by room through a custom mode, and mark "No mop zone" areas so the robot only vacuums the carpet. The L6 Nex page adds real-time cleaning status and scheduling. Both L6 robots work with Alexa and Google Assistant, and the L6 Pro connects through Smart Life for voice control. The FAQ is clear that the L6 Pro supports "only 2.4 Ghz networks". The troubleshooting page has short guides for the L6 Nex on connecting to Alexa and the app, saving maps and its "Y-shaped mopping function", and for the Evol 3 on the water tank.

Warranty and support

The product pages promise a 2-year warranty: "a two-year worry-free warranty and a lifetime of technical support" on the Evol 3, and a "2-year free warranty service" on the L6 Pro that you activate by contacting the brand. The homepage footer, though, lists "1 Years Worry-free Warranty", alongside "90 Days Free Refund for Product Issues", "24 Hours Online Customer Service" and "Lifetime Technical Support". Support runs by email at the brand's own address, and the L6 pages promise an answer within 24 hours. The store also offers a free trial program, a manuals page and accessories, though the accessory pages cover the Elite cordless sticks and the L6 Nex only.

Downsides

The warranty figure depends on which page you read, so hold on to the product page that states 2 years. The L6 Nex headline suction and its body text disagree. The Evol 3 was marked sold out at its sale price, and replacement parts are listed for only one robot, the L6 Nex. And the Evol 3's own spec table gives an item weight of 19.54 pounds, a figure that is hard to square with a 2.75-inch robot.

Who it suits

Laresar suits a buyer who wants a low robot that fits under furniture and mops as it vacuums, without paying for a dock: that is the Evol 3. Pet owners with rugs, or anyone in a larger home who wants maps, no-mop zones and a self-emptying base, should look at the L6 Nex or L6 Pro.

It suits less well a buyer who wants a mop-washing dock, which no Laresar robot lists.
