Who KENT is
KENT is an Indian home appliance brand whose homepage leads with RO water purifiers. Its title reads "KENT RO Systems-India's Most Trusted Water Purifier & Appliances Brand", and the page says KENT was founded by Dr. Mahesh Gupta, an IIT Kanpur alumnus. It describes the company as the "Largest Manufacturer & Market Leader in RO Water Purifier with Large Sales and Service Network" and speaks of "more than two decades of innovation" and "25 Years of Trust by Millions". It also shows trust certificates from the Brand Trust Report India Study (2014) and Trust Research Advisory (2020 and 2024). Those are the brand's own claims about its purifier business.
Water is still the core of the catalog: RO, UV, gravity and hydrogen-rich water purifiers, water softeners and iron removal filters. Around it KENT has built a broad appliance range with chimneys and gas stoves, air fryers, mixer grinders, kettles, toasters and coffee makers, plus air purifiers, humidifiers and steam irons. A "New Energy" line of lithium batteries and hybrid inverters rounds it out. Vacuum cleaners sit under Home Appliances, and that section is the page this listing points to.
The vacuum range, and the one robot in it
KENT's vacuum section lists seven products, and only one of them is a robot. The robot sits among the brand's manual machines, and the prices below are the sale prices the store showed against a higher MRP.
- KENT RoboKlean R1 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, ₹14,999 (MRP ₹30,000)
- KENT Zoom Turbo, a cordless stick with suction of ">28 kPa" and a BLDC motor, ₹12,149 (MRP ₹29,999)
- KENT Zoom Plus, a lightweight cordless vacuum with HEPA filtration and accessories for floors, upholstery and high-up surfaces, ₹7,199 (MRP ₹11,999)
- KENT Vortex Pro Wet & Dry, a 1200W drum vacuum with a 20L stainless-steel tank, a blower and a kit of hose, extension tubes, crevice tools, floor brush and wet brush, ₹5,999 (MRP ₹12,999)
- KENT Vortex Plus Wet & Dry, 1200W with a 12L tank, ₹4,349 (MRP ₹11,999)
- KENT Dash, a lightweight bagless vacuum with cyclonic technology and a HEPA filter, pitched at floors, carpets, car interiors and corners, ₹2,299 (MRP ₹6,500)
- KENT Duster, a handheld with "> 16 kPa of suction", ₹1,999 (MRP ₹4,999)
That context matters. KENT is not a robot specialist with a ladder of models. It is an appliance brand that has added a single robot to a range built mostly around handheld, cordless and wet-dry machines. If you want the robot for daily dust and a cordless stick or wet-dry vacuum for spills, stairs and the car, KENT sells both.
RoboKlean R1 in detail
The R1's product page describes it as delivering "intelligent and hands-free cleaning with advanced AI-powered automation", controlled through the KENT Smart Home App and able to clean "across multiple floor types". The page lists seven headline features: Advanced LDS Navigation, Smart App & Voice Control, a Self-Cleaning Function, Scheduled Cleaning, AI Obstacle Recognition, Ultra Strong Suction and an Extended 3-Hour Runtime.
The "About Product" section fills in each one:
- Navigation. The R1 "Uses laser-based distance measurement to accurately map surroundings enabling fast response, precise navigation and non-contact obstacle detection."
- App and voice. "Take complete control of your cleaning routine via the KENT Smart Home App schedule, track, customize modes and adjust settings remotely." The page adds voice command support but does not name the voice assistants.
- Self-cleaning. The app "enables self-cleaning operations", which KENT ties to easy maintenance. The page does not describe a cleaning dock.
- Obstacles. "Intelligent AI sensors detect and avoid obstacles reducing the risk of collisions, damage or getting stuck."
- Suction. "ultra-strong suction strength of up to 8,500 Pa" for dirt, dust, pet hair and debris on multiple surfaces.
- Runtime. "up to 3 hours of uninterrupted runtime on a single charge", which KENT pitches at larger areas.
The technical details table confirms a maximum vacuum pressure of 8500 Pa, a maximum power of 50 W, a net weight of 5 kg and a 100 to 240V, 50/60Hz supply, with product code 116176. The noise row is left blank, though the description calls the robot quiet. A user manual and a product brochure are available as downloads from the same page.
Further down, the page sums the robot up in four short promises: an "All-in-one robot vacuum for powerful, quiet cleaning", "Up to 3 hours of cleaning on a single charge", a design "to clean spaces & corners while avoiding edges & falls", and the ability to "Start, Stop or Schedule cleaning with simple app & voice commands". The same page carries a short set of customer quotes rated 4.0 to 5.0, praising the navigation, the battery backup and the hands-free cleaning. They are the brand's own selection, not an independent review.
The R1 is a vacuum first. Its page talks about dust, dirt and pet hair and says nothing about mopping, a water tank or a self-emptying base, so treat it as a dry-cleaning robot.
Buying and service
The R1 is sold on kent.co.in at ₹14,999 with tax included, and the store checks delivery by pin code. The page notes that pay on delivery is not available. The product page also says the robot is available from other stores. Anyone can book a free demo through a form on the site, and a dealer locator lists KENT's retail partners. The site can be read in English, Hindi, Bengali, Nepali, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Urdu, Spanish and French.
For service, the homepage asks owners to "Call 92789 12345 from anywhere in India for official KENT service assistance" and warns against unauthorized service: "Only KENT-authorised service ensures the use of genuine spare parts and trained professionals." It cites a "Large Network of Service Engineers across India". The homepage writes that service message around water purifiers, which need regular servicing, but the number and the network cover the brand as a whole, robot included.
Caveats
With one robot, there is no step up if you want mopping, a self-emptying base or a larger battery. The R1 page leaves the noise figure blank and does not name the app's voice partners. Buyers who want those details should download the brochure and manual before ordering.
Who it suits
KENT suits Indian households that already trust the brand for their water purifier and want a laser-mapped, app-run robot vacuum with serious suction from the same service number. The R1's 3-hour runtime suits larger homes with mostly dry cleaning needs. Homes that want the robot to mop as well, or that want to choose between several robot models, will find KENT's range too short.
